The Happiness List
- The unbelievably sweet smell of the ground after it rains.
- The call of a mourning dove on a cool morning.
- Knitting in the grass in the warmth of the sun.
- The distant sound of a bee buzzing -not too close!
- Watching a thunderstorm roll in.
- The smell of fresh cut grass.
- Studying an extremely determined ant carrying his large load home. We can learn a lot from ants.
- The delicious sticky sweetness of freshly pressed apple cider.
- The smile of a friend.
- Knitting next to an open window at twilight as the crickets give you their best present – their music.
- Kicking up the leaves.
- Seeing a squirrel fearlessly run along the leafy branches of a giant oak tree.
- The smell of the grill in the neighbor’s yard - and wondering if they would notice if you showed up for dinner.
- Sunshine.
- Taking an early morning walk with my husband and our dog, Brody. In fact anything to do with our dog Brody! (Sally, Illinois)
- Knitting by the fire (in winter) or on the flower enclosed back patio -
overlooking the garden - on a warm summer evening.(Jan R., Michigan)
- Snuggling in a warm bed early in the morning with my purring kitty. (Jan R., Michigan)
- When preparing a meal for my family having enough time to enjoy the rhythm
of preparing the food. (Jan R., Michigan)
- Providing morning and evening meals for three stray kitty cats and then
watching them from the window since they won't let me near them. It is so
good to know their little tummies are full even though they don't have a
home.(Jan R., Michigan)
- Grinding flour, baking bread, smelling the wonderful kitchen smells. (Jan R., Michigan)
